The day started of slow, became slower half way through the session and then tailed of at the end…. Yep thats right we didnt catch a thing!
Perhaps it was to wet? or to cold? or not cold enough?
Fingers crossed for next time.

We have been fishing since the last post but sadly we have been slack in writing new posts (apologies for any followers)
Its that time again, the winter months are upon us and the crisp winter mornings are almost perfect for PIKE!
We’re on a mission this weekend to catch a mother pike on DeadBaits, the lake is private so we can write the location but hopefully it will produce the goods!
Catch Report to follow when we return!
Well since the lake fished so well last time we had to make sure it was not a fluke and we can happily say its not. We had a good head of fish out on Saturday afternoon, what more can you ask for on such a sunny day? The spoon pulled out more than 50lbs of Carp in the afternoon and Meat Donut and Captain spoon caught more tench than you can shake a stick at! With carp up to 14lb we are gonna keep on hitting it until we catch a double! Pics below:
We found a new lake!!! and it’s fantastic. LOTS of good carp and seemingly endless tench.
Meat Donut gets the Tench King Crown award for 27 tench in 4 hours! good work!
Unfortunately The Spoon wasn’t able to make it… and he’ll be kicking himself! Next time mate! we’re definitely going back there!

LOTS of Pics…
As the Spoon steps up his game the pike are coming out of the lake in their masses* and we are loving it.
Attached is a photo on one of many Jack’s that came out two weeks ago although small the spoon didn’t want to ruin his manicure and had to wear a “Panzy glove” (as Meat Donut calls it)
The next fishathon should be on Saturday if the weather holds out!
Watch this space.

Check out this monster

A couple of nice, warm and sunny evenings at the lake produced 4 1lbish pike for Captain Snooze and a couple for The Spoon, including a slightly bigger 2.5lb fish. the Donut managed just the 1 fish - we suspect he’s losing his touch!

For the last 3 matches we have frustratingly fished this lake with no results! In the 3-4 years fishing in Norwich we have never heard of any maintenance being undertaken to this fishery at all and are confident that there has been no Re-Stocking at this fishery. TBH we are not really prepared to pay the day ticket price for what you get. If you look at some other local lakes like “Barford Lakes” there really is no competition, as its wel maintained, the driveway can be accessed without the use of a 4×4 and its stocked VERY well.
Things that need to change before we will fish it again:
* Seriously why do fishermen need to have bite alarms when they are sitting next to their rods, are they that rubbish at fishing that they dont know when they have a bite? I thought the bait runner going and the rod bending to one side would be enough of a indication!
Will keep everyone posted with and improvements to the lake and MAY fish there again in the future (Hopefully)
